A walk in development to focus on our programme
We start by walking up a busy city road past hidden spaces speckled with the late autumn sun
two bald men sit on a doorstep, chatting and eating, gaining sustenance from food and friendship
as we drop out of the city we start to focus
if we can allow nature to guide us, every moment can be a new resource for development
we ramble around the edges, enjoying the sun and low shadows
coming out into the open we reflect on how our programme can help people explore
can we find space to express ourselves?
we pass under a busy road and up through woods
when the path opens up there’s a bench looking out on a still cityscape
a place to sit and see what we’ve created
the low sun picks out our shadow on the landscape
a reminder that we all have different starting places
takc time to find our roots
we are always in the picture
all our actions have consequences
a reminder to tread carefully
we are never fully alone
our connections sustain us
let’s reach out
this beautiful oak rises out from the ground
what can we make together?
getting deep into the country now, each step relaxes us, tension falls off like leaves
how can we help each other keep going?
we walk between the lines that connect us
how can we share what we learn?
we are all on our own journeys
every journey is unique
how will our programme connect with who we are?
a beautiful gesture freely given
what sustains us?
let’s share our gifts
the light fades
yet the moment lasts
what will we leave people with?
what will we remember?
