A walk to organise our way forward. Moreton on the Marsh, Gloucestershire
a walk in development to focus on our resource
we set off in the wet and cold with the sound of the wind all around
an invitation to embrace things as they are
to connect with something real and experience something known
and unknown
this is a wintry place, where we feel the change between the years
and slip between the worlds
of who we’ve been and who we may yet be
our moments are raindrops on the water
disturbing the surface
and changing what we see
a solitary tower stands testament to the countless years, fates and fortunes that were fashioned from this earth
now moss, lichen and fern cast a cloak of secrecy
and tall trees grasp at the shallow soil
a gentle wind plays with the branches
each tree moves to its own music,
a silent symphony in the sky
life here respects the sadness that weighs heavy on the land
a fly creeps across my page, a treecreeper and a wren fly up closer
we feel the world slowly turning and wait for signs of change
a single raindrop falls from the bark
this is who I want to be
the one who believes in you
gives permission and space
and helps you find a way through
to who you want to be
