Can we get into the flow?

Steve sketches Stephen who is stood knee deep in a river

My friend Stephen is standing in the river and being drawn by a local artist, Steve,
who later regaled us with one of his own compositions (‘Here come the dog walkers’).

It is easy to feel pushed to be and to do things that we don’t feel comfortable with.
It is worth remembering that there is probably a reason that we don’t feel comfortable
and that we may be well advised to follow our intuition.
It might help to think instead about what we feel drawn to.

It is only when I am outside that I really feel comfortable.
When I walk with Stephen he is often drawn to the water.
Maybe one reason we are drawn to the water is that it brings us closer to nature
and the natural flow of life.

What do you feel drawn to?

A walk crests a hill under blue skies with fluffy white clouds seemingly in touching distance

Questions:

Can we get into the flow?

How can we navigate a complex, changing and uncertain world?
What will we choose to guide us?
How can we make sense of our experience?

a walker disappears into the distance past abandoned farm machinery

Reflections

Development is an ongoing process
We can choose how we see the world
How we see the world, changes the world
Just because a lot of people seem to think in the same way does not mean they are right
(indeed there are very many reasons to think they might not be).

Suggestions

Let’s keep moving

Choose to see a world in development
See a world that is constantly changing, emerging and developing
Step outside and open yourself up to a world in three dimensions
Allow your experience to guide you
Think about your present situation
Consider how you interact with other people
Look for practical examples that can help you decide what to do
